Job Title: Oyster Farm Hand

Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

We are a boutique oyster farm located in the Gulf of Mexico, dedicated to sustainable aquaculture and producing high-quality oysters. Our farm is committed to environmental stewardship and delivering the best product to our customers. We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team and assist in all aspects of farm operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the daily operations of the oyster farm, including counting, sorting, harvesting, and maintenance of farm.
Handle oysters safely and efficiently, ensuring minimal damage.
Monitor and maintain the health and growth of oysters, including regular inspections for pests, disease, and environmental conditions.
Operate and maintain farm equipment such as boats, cages, and machinery.
Perform regular cleaning and maintenance tasks on the farm to ensure a safe and organized working environment.
Assist in packaging and preparing oysters for distribution, ensuring quality standards are met.
Adhere to all safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment.
Assist in record-keeping and reporting on oyster growth, harvest, and farm conditions.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and productive farm operations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in aquaculture, farming, or related fields is preferred but not required.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
Comfortable working on boats and in water-based environments.
Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance and repairs.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable transportation to and from the farm.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform tasks that require bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
Comfortable working in outdoor conditions, including exposure to sun, wind, and water.
